About The Puerto Rico Challenge

In winter 2025, The Puerto Rico Challenge, a new and eagerly awaited early-season series in college baseball, will make its debut. This annual February event will bring together eight elite NCAA Division I teams, featuring prominent coaches and top players, to Puerto Rico, a location passionate about baseball.

Over 10,000 enthusiasts, including families, friends, and fans from the U.S. and Puerto Rico, will gather in the stadiums of Ponce and Mayagüez. Here, they'll not only enjoy the thrill of the games but also experience the rich local culture and stunning Caribbean beaches. This series is set to become a significant milestone on the journey to the Omaha championships, offering a blend of competitive sports and cultural festivities.

The Event will illustrate to local youth how baseball can be a gateway to admission to prestigious US-based universities, as well as a potential path to playing professionally. It highlights how baseball can be a gateway to prestigious universities and success beyond sports, with college-educated former MLB players sharing their insights and experiences.
